25 Maria Guinovart es la presidenta y directora de la Fundación Espacio Guinovart, desde donde difunde y actualiza el legado de su padre, el pintor Josep Guinovart, uno de los pintores más destacados de España. Maria Guinovart is the president and director of the Fundació Espai Guinovart, where she disseminates and updates her father’s legacy – that of Josep Guinovart, one of Spain’s most outstanding painters. Josep Guinovart was one of the leaders of the second Cat- alan avant-garde. His works, featuring in the world’s most important museums, are a clear testimony to the power- ful relationship between art, land and regeneration. His deep connection with the natural environment and his use of materials found on the land (wheat, leaves, wax...) reflect his commitment to nature and his desire to pres- ent, and not just represent, the link between the land and his own canvas. Clear proof of this are the marvellous installations we find at the Fundació Espai Guinovart in Agramunt (Lleida, Spain) where the artist translates the colours of the land- scape around him, the textures of the fields, into authen- tic works of art that speak to us of memories, emotions and personal regeneration. Guinovart was an artist who overcame the conventional limits of art, delving into the connection between territo- ry and its recovery. His work invites us to reflect on how art can be a powerful tool for personal and social trans- formation. Josep Guinovart fue uno de los máximos representantes de las segundas vanguardias catalanas. Sus obras, expues- tas en los museos más importantes de todo el mundo, son un claro testimonio de la poderosa relación entre arte, territorio y regeneración. Su profunda conexión con el entorno natural y el uso de materiales encontrados en el mismo territorio (trigo, hojas, cera...) reflejan su compro- miso con la naturaleza y su deseo de presentar, y no sólo representar, la unión entre la tierra y el lienzo. Clara muestra de ello son las maravillosas instalaciones que encontramos en la Fundació Espai Guinovart Agra- munt (Lleida, España) donde el artista traduce los colores del paisaje que le rodea, las texturas de los campos, en au- ténticas obras de arte que nos hablan de recuerdos, emo- ciones y regeneración personal. Guinovart fue un artista que trascendió los límites conven- cionales del arte, ahondando en la conexión entre el terri- torio y su recuperación. Su obra nos invita a reflexionar sobre cómo el arte puede ser una poderosa herramienta de transformación personal y social.
